The National Society of Professional Engineers has designated Engineers Week 2010 from February 14 to February 20.  Engineers Week is an exciting time for engineers and scientists from across the country.  Engineers get involved with their communities via national, regional and local programs, carrying on a tradition that began in 1952.

This year, in a continuing effort to make this a valley-wide event, Engineers Week – Greater Phoenix Area will be organized by a committee of professional engineering and science organizations throughout the area.  We are planning several exciting events for E-Week 2010.

“E-Week Awards”
Awards are given to recognize engineers, students, educators and projects that have made outstanding contributions to the profession.  The awards celebrate and acknowledge the vital part engineers play in our complex world. Please nominate people and projects that deserve recognition.

“Legislative Lunch” on House Lawn of the State Capitol – Thursday, February 18th from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
Join your fellow engineers to network with legislators and emphasize the importance of engineering.  In conjunction with E-Week, the legislative luncheon will be hosted by ACEC Arizona, AzSCE and APWA Arizona Chapter.

“E-Week Hosted Awards Reception” at Sheraton Downtown PhoenixThursday, February 18th at 6pm.
The awards reception program will include the presentation of the E-Week awards and guest speaker. Business formal is the recommended attire for this event.

“Engineers Day” at the Arizona Science Center - Saturday, February 20th from 10am to 4pm.
The Center is the perfect venue for engineering societies, university students and industry representatives to set up events designed to excite and interest the visitors of all ages.  Past events have attracted large attendances.
